Why Losing Still Felt Like Winning: My Matchday Story

Hi!!! It's me again. I see you want to know what happened at the match of Liverpool against Aston Villa on Sunday 30th March. Well, you have come to the right place. Let's get going.

When we arrived at St Helens rugby stadium, it felt like arriving home from a very, very long holiday. My heart seemed to grow by triple because my happiness was overwhelming. As soon as I got into the V-Bar, I immediately pranced over to the bracelet making table and made 3 hand-made bracelets. Also, I got some pictures of the players as they went into the stadium. 😊😊 💖💖 Then I saw Mighty Red and (as always) he made me laugh. I danced with mum and Willem because the music was so good.🎶 On the way to get into the stadium, I gave some food to the food bank.🫱🏻‍🫲🏾

Once inside the stadium, I did a sticker swop and I think I did quite good, I got a small pile of ones I needed.👍Dad and I had a go on the MASSIVE inflatable football dartboard, I hit the target, but it didn't stick 😒. My Dad has the funniest moment of the whole day!! Dad and Mighty Red were having a play around and my dad tripped and fell over, it took Mighty Red AND my mum to pick him up. 🤣🤣🤣 There was a DJ there too playing songs that made me dance in my seat. I also got to watch the players warming up, I found out that my favourite player (Smith, if you don't remember) wasn't playing today (sad!😭). During "you'll never walk alone" I got to wave a flag again, it made me so happy!!! 😁

1st half
Not much went on in the first half. Sure we put in lots of effort, but there wasn't much quality, I think we only had one shot on target. There was one incident where Holland got injured by being fouled by 2 ex-Liverpool players, I didn't like that, but she was ok.

2nd half
Much more happened here. We got a penalty and Hobinger scored! But it wasn't the only goal, soon it was 1-1 (Hanson) and then it was 1-2 (Aston Villa). Own goal by Clark 🥺 I felt bad for her.

After the match
Once the match had finished, me, Mum, Will and Dad went to a meet and great (I had won the competition). I had been so excited for this since my mum told me we had won. I had a team picture that one of Mum's new friends had given me to get autographs on. Once a player got in sight of me, I was too dumfounded to say anything but: "Thank you" and "can I have a picture too please?" I got to meet so many players, get their autograph and photos, so I did a happy dance.

Even though we lost, today felt like a big win to me.
