Hi hi everyone!!
I’m back with another superb match day adventure, and this one was extra special because on the 27th of April, me, Mum, and my ✨VIP✨ BESTIE Amilya went to St Helens to watch Liverpool Women vs Tottenham Women!(Willem couldn't come because he had Chickenpox, and dad had to stay home to look after him)
It was a super sunny and mega hot day! 🌞🥵 As soon as we got there, I zoomed straight to the player entrance. I told Amilya all about the players I knew and remembered from other games. But guess what… I was too late to see my absolute FAVE, Olivia Smith. I was so sad – I even made a little sad face like this: 😢
After that, we headed to the VBar, where you can make bracelets! Last time I made one for Smith, so this time I made one for Enderby. I really hope I get the chance to give them their bracelets one day – that would be SO cool! ❤️
There was also a football cage set up, but it was just waaaay too hot to go in and have a kickabout. 🥵 I'm ginger after all! 🤣 Instead, we dropped off our usual bag of donations to the foodbank (we always try to bring something to help). This time, they were doing a special raffle where you could win Liverpool goodies if you donated. (Spoiler alert: we didn’t win anything… booo!😡)
I also saw Mighty Red being totally silly and running around like a crazy bird – he’s always so funny 🤭😂! But sadly, I didn’t get my usual cuddle with him this week. I think he was too busy flapping around as he had 2 big games to go to in one day!! 🥅⚽️🥅⚽️🐦
After that, we went through the turnstiles and straight to the face painting station. The lady there was AMAZING! I asked for a Liverbird, and she did it completely freehand! No stencil or anything!! I still can’t believe it, she was like a face painting wizard!🐦 🙀🧙♀️
There was also a really cool brass band playing happy songs that made everyone smile, and we found a photo booth to take some silly pics🤳🏻, so now I’ve got even more memories from the day! 🎵🎵🎷🎺
Then we made our way to our seats, but just as I sat down, I saw the flag team handing out big flags. One of the amazing flag ladies asked me what size I wanted, and I said, “BIG please!!” So I got to wave one of the GIANT flags this time, my arms ached so much after, but it was worth it 💪! That’s one of my favourite bits, waving the flags when You’ll Never Walk Alone plays. Everyone stands at the front waving red, white, and yellow flags together, and it looks soooo cool, like a sea of colours. It gives me goosebumps every time!
Then it was time for the match! Liverpool came out looking super energetic, and the game was exciting right from the start. In the 12th minute, Sophie Roman Haug scored for Liverpool and we all cheered so loud I think my voice broke a little (and I might have deaffend the guy in front!) But then in the 25th minute, Tottenham got a goal back… because of an OWN GOAL! Oh noooo!🥺 🤦♀️ Then Tottenham got a 2nd goal in the 31st min. 1-2 to Tottenham 😥😡😭
At half time, they showed lots of photos on the big screen of people’s favourite memories at St Helens this year – and one of the pictures was of ME, MUM AND WILLEM dressed as elves with Mighty Red!!! So funny!! 😂😝
The second half was even more intense than the first. There were tons of corners and loads of chances to score. Sophie Roman Haug got her second goal in the 50th min, making it 2-2! Right at the end – like literally the 100th minute – Tottenham almost scored AGAIN but luckily their shot went wide. Phew!! 😰
So the match ended in a draw, which is definitely better than a loss. I had SUCH a fun day with Mum and Amilya, and I can’t wait for the next match! Liverpool Women always make me proud! 💖❤️💖
Next stop: OMG you won’t believe this!!! Next Sunday… I’M GOING TO BE A MASCOT!!! I’m soooo excited I can’t stop thinking about it!!! I get to go behind the scenes, ask loads of questions, AND walk out onto the pitch with a real player!!! Can you believe it?!? It’s going to be the BEST DAY EVER!!! You seriously don’t want to miss the next post!!!
